Design Engineer Wanted at ateljé Lyktan

We are currently looking for a Design Engineer for customization and a Design Engineer for new development.

Design Engineer for Customization

As a Design Engineer for customization, you will primarily work with customizations of existing products – a role where you will independently and collaboratively develop technically thought-out solutions. You play an important role in understanding and translating customer wishes, often in close dialogue with our salespeople and customers.

Design Engineer for New Development

As a Design Engineer for new development, you will primarily work on projects that span longer periods where you will drive the entire product development process from concept to launch of the finished product. As a Design Engineer, you will design and adapt products in 3D CAD and be responsible for producing changes, drawings, and technical documentation that form the basis for manufacturing. The work requires a good ability to analyze conditions, find solutions, and deliver according to set requirements and timelines.

Your daily work is characterized by collaboration both within and outside the department – with salespeople, product managers, purchasing, and production – where a responsive and solution-oriented attitude is crucial for success in the role. You are an important link in ensuring that our solutions meet customer needs and maintain high technical quality while adhering to our safety and functionality requirements.

Your Profile

To thrive in this role, you have a post-secondary education in engineering or a combination of education and experience that we consider equivalent. You are experienced in working with a 3D CAD program, such as Inventor, Creo, Catia, or SolidWorks. You express yourself fluently in both Swedish and English, in both speech and writing. You have good computer skills and feel comfortable working with various technical systems and tools – something that is a natural part of your daily work. Experience working in environments with PDM systems (Product Data Management) is an advantage but not a requirement.

For the role of Design Engineer for customization, it is beneficial if you have basic knowledge of construction, material selection, or electrical engineering, but what matters most to us is how you approach your work and your colleagues. For the role of Design Engineer for new development, you should have at least 5 years of experience in design work, preferably in product development. Experience with castings, profile, and material knowledge is highly meritorious.
